A treatment using professional-grade active ingredients to exfoliate skin, revealing smoother texture and improved appearance.
What is it?
Chemical peels offer a proven method for enhancing skin texture and radiance while rejuvenating complexion without invasive procedures. Dermatologists utilize chemical peels to address a spectrum of skin concerns including acne, age spots, pigmentation irregularities, uneven skin tone, fine lines, wrinkles, freckles, melasma, roughness and sun damage. Derived from entirely natural components, chemical peels have been a choosen skin rejuvenation treatment performed by dermatologists for over five decades.
With chemical peels, visible improvements can often be seen in less than a week with little to no downtime. At Dermatologists of Southwest Ohio, our experienced providers tailor the intensity and formulation of the peel to align with your individual skincare needs and goals. The efficacy of your chemical peel hinges significantly on the expertise of the administering practitioner. Visit one of our board-certified dermatologists in Batavia, Beavercreek, Bridgetown, Cincinnati, Dayton, Dent, Greenville, Hillsboro, Kettering, Mason, Montgomery, Oxford, Troy, West Chester and Wilmington, Ohio to determine if chemical peels are the best treatment option for you.
What to expect
Appointments may be brief, sometimes lasting only 15 minutes. The treatment starts with facial cleansing to prime your skin for treatment. Our skilled providers apply the peel and begin monitoring your skin's response. Depending on the type of peel used, your provider may remove the chemical peel during your appointment, or will provide detailed instructions for you to wash it off at a later time. Depending on the depth of the peel, we may administer cold compresses and recommend specific skincare products to alleviate any discomfort.
At Dermatologists of Southwest Ohio, our team collaborates closely with each patient to prescribe an optimal at-home care regimen aimed at maximizing results and minimizing downtime. We'll guide you through your post-treatment skincare routine, including how long to anticipate redness and swelling and when it's safe to resume makeup application. For medium or deep peels, our team may schedule a follow-up visit.
