Fine lines and wrinkles that appear over time on skin at the outside corners of the eyes.
What is it?
Crow's feet, sometimes called smile lines, occur naturally at the corner of the eyes as we age and our repetitive facial expressions crease the skin. If you look in the mirror while smiling or squinting, you can see the creases resulting in wrinkles. Crow's feet can be some of the earliest signs of aging and can arrive earlier for some people due to sun exposure, smoking, skin type or an inconsistent skincare routine.
While crow's feet are a normal aspect of aging, some individuals feel these wrinkles make them appear older than their actual age. If you are interested in reducing the appearance of crow's feet, we can help at our offices in Batavia, Beavercreek, Bridgetown, Cincinnati, Dayton, Dent, Greenville, Hillsboro, Kettering, Mason, Montgomery, Oxford, Troy, West Chester and Wilmington, Ohio.
How is it treated?
You and your skin are unique, so our team will tailor a plan to you that can include treatments such as Botox® injections, which can temporarily immobilize the muscles around the eyes lessening the appearance of lines, or dermal fillers which can aid in smoothing out wrinkles. Additional treatment options include laser resurfacing, which eliminates the outer skin layers to stimulate new skin growth, and topical retinoids which can aid in collagen production.
Crow's feet are completely natural, but you don't have to like them. We're here to help if you are interested in options to restore a more youthful look around your eyes.
