Dark Eye Circles

Areas under the eyes appearing darker than surrounding complexion.

What is it?

Dark under-eye circles, also know to as periorbital hyperpigmentation, are a common issue where the skin beneath the eye appears darker than nearby facial skin. These darkened rings can arise for a number of reasons including aging, sun exposure, insufficient sleep, stress, heredity or specific health conditions like allergies or kidney diseases. Often, they create the illusion of tiredness, ill health or aging. As a result, many people choose to treat dark circles under their eyes for cosmetic reasons.

How is it treated?

Treatments for dark under-eye circles can include topical creams with lightening elements, laser treatments targeting pigmentation, chemical peels or fillers for hollow or sunken eyes.

In addition to medical-grade treatments, our team may also recommend lifestyle modifications such as improving sleep habits, reducing stress or modifying diet to help rejuvenate the area under your eyes.

To get help with dark circles under your eyes, schedule an appointment with one of our teams serving the communities of Batavia, Beavercreek, Bridgetown, Cincinnati, Dayton, Dent, Greenville, Hillsboro, Kettering, Mason, Montgomery, Oxford, Troy, West Chester and Wilmington, Ohio.
